Do you know of anyone with a sleep apnea problem that has been completely cured of it?

I know to consult a professional medical expert, I just want feedback from someone who has sleep apnea or know of someone who has it.
My father-in-law and a friend of mine both had sleep apnea. My father-in-law opts to use the C-Pap machine at night so his breathing is normal now (although I certainly wouldn’t call this a cure) and my friend lost a bunch of weight. And ever since he got down to within 10 pounds of his goal weight, he has not had any problems with sleep apnea.
