    Hey

I have this problem too. When i open my mouth the right side of the jaw has a click/pop sound. Although there is no pain. But its a bit uncomfortable while eating food. I had this from about 2years now. At the start, i visited the doctor, who asked me not worry if there is no severe pain. But sometimes it really worries me as i live alone these days. What can i do. Everytime i open my mouth to eat or talk, it clicks. =(

    Dear jodeath619abano
clicks and pain in your sister jaw is a symptoms of TMJ dysfunction. The medical massage protocols that I am demonstrating is a very effective treatment for this dysfunctions but first I would highly recommend to see Dr. for evolution to exclude other diseases that possibly can produce the same symptoms. Oral screening by dentist as well simple x-ray excluding it.TMJ dysfunction do not go away by themselves but with time getting worse if not to treat it.Best wishes
    Boris.

my sister notice some clicking and pain in her jaw recently and i am afraid that she has TMJ,,what would be our first step in curing it? should we opt first to go to the dentist or therapists?

dentists don’t want to admit when they give us TMJ and destroy our lives.

  6. cactimargie says:

After a detist adjusted 4 back upper crowns, I went into severe tmj, and lost 15 pounds right away. I couldn’t chew and didn’t know how to eat. Pain was in my jaw joint, neck , back that sent me to bed for an entire month. Dentists don’t realize how sick people get when their teeth don’t fit together properly. Currently, I ‘m on a liquid and mush diet. I resent not being able to eat the foods I normally eat. I keep my mouth open in a natural position and this is relieving my tmj.

i suffered with tmj for years. i then went to the eastman dental hospital in london and they identified medical therapy together with counselling as the treatment. i went to many dentists and massagists before. It was a con trick they use.

  8. Dodo251 says:

    What do you mean?

  9. londoniran says:

its caused by a psychological dis order my friend.

I HIGHLY encourage those with TMJ before resorting to surgery, braces, etc. to try massage. After one month of massage therapy (2 x week for 2 wks, then 1 x week for 2 wks) my pain, numbness, locking jaw, was gone. Find a therapist experienced in TMJ (including knowing how to work inside your mouth with a glove), myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Not all therapists know how to do this. Also, wear a mouthguard at night – very important. Best of luck in whatever therapy you choose

I’m affraid no massage would help me since I’ve been experiencing pain in my enitre jaw and cheek bones for about 3 years now on daily basis. Sometimes it eases off and doesn’t hurt as much but most of the time it’s unbearable. I’ve also noticed that I have some difficulties with hearing and an assimetrical face which clearly indicates that my jaw is dislocated. I’m really not happy and would gladly go to an operation but since I’m a student, that’s out of question.

I have neck pain, headaches and ear pain and sometimes my teeth it has been going on for five days what would you recommend I do?

  13. Akbar2189 says:

im just a student that has tmj and what i described has relieved some of the pain. i know that tmj will keep on deteriorating. i have never had this problem before i had braces so i think if my bit was rearranged to how it was b4 then it would be back to normal. but this is my own opinion. tell me what you think cos now its gotten a little worser.

  14. mgaft1 says:

    Dear Akbar2189 .
your description fitting TMJ dysfunction that mainly is a result of masticatorie muscles as well as affiliated fascia dysfunction. you describing act of somehow taking care of TMJ subluxation. can assure you that this not adequate treatment. would recommend to see exports who knows how to eliminate myofacial dysfunctions. it is important otherwise TMJ meniscus as well cartilage surfaces can be damaged and not reversible.
    Best wishes.

cutting the story short i had bad headaches and inner ear pain . but by putting my finger in my ear and opening my jaw whilst pushing my fingers down there was 2 clicks . i have never felt better relief in my life, much better than pain killers. i even do that now. it took me days to make it click but once it happend i knew i will get adicted to doing that as it would be relieving. i still do it now and would advise those who are in pain to do that. then reply back to me.
    hope that helps any1

  16. Akbar2189 says:

woa your tmj hurts that much and you have had it for 5 months , i have had it for about a year and a half i 1st got it when the dentist wanted to move my bite. i heard clicking on the left side. it was loud clicks like but they were not very common. i mentioned it to my dentist and she said oh its just muscle tension. but as time went it progressed. i then had my milk teeth pulled out and had the fixed braces applied on. then it deteriorated and i felt pain on da right side jaw muscles.

  17. Ajd8281 says:

    ok thanks

  18. JennelleBelle says:

I had tmj since i was a kid. Whenever it hurts and feels like my jaw has like a bubble in it i tap it with the hard palm of my hand right above the wrist and u hear this pop and then feel total relief. Kinda like cracking a knuckle.

  19. SXJULIE says:

As a patient of tmj, you should never have your patient laying face down. It hurts to do so and causes headaches. My people do me face up.
