People keep talking about a CRAP? That has to do with Sleep Apnea?

What’s this for, what’s it mean… I can’t find it anywhere online, or the real name or anything? HELP!

  1. S P says:

Do you mean a CPAP? It is like an oxygen mask that you sleep with.

  2. formerly_bob says:

It’ s CPAP – which is a machine that provides pressurized oxygen.

  3. Christopher says:

It’s CPAP machine, it’s air that is forced into your air way so it doesn’t close while your sleeping. I have to use one of these CPAP machines at night because when I sleep on my back my airway closes or collapse and I stop breathing.
I had to take a sleep study test to check for all this. The machine is basically the size of a foot ball maybe little bigger but not by much. But it saves my life each night!

  4. Sheltie7 says:

The CPAP machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) was developed in 1981.

The machine blows air at a prescribed pressure which is set by the doctor after you’ve undergone a polysomnography (sleep apnea test) which lasts all night.

ROTFLMAO!!! It’s a C-PAP. A “See- Pap” It stands for Continuous Positive Air Pressure. When you have sleep apnea, your airway can relax and close off, so you stop breathing for 30 seconds or a minute or so, causing your oxygen levels to drop. A C-Pap forces air past that closed airway and into your lungs so that you get the oxygen you need. They are noisy (like windy), and some people hate to wear them, because it’s a mask attached to a machine and it’s bulky. But, they do work, and they’re worth wearing. If you have sleep apnea, a C-Pap can help you sleep better, have more energy, lose weight, and literally live longer.

If you have sleep apnea and you are overweight, then losing weight can sometimes cure the problem. If you smoke, then stop that too.

    Good luck!
