Such a thing as intermittent sleep apnea?

I have the symptoms and have made audiotapes of my gasping/snoring.

Yet some nights I don’t gasp or snore much. I don’t smoke, drink, or sleep on my back.

Not so much intermittent, as some nights are better than others.

If you can talk your doc into it, get surgical correction now. It only gets worse with time, and CPAP is almost worse than useless.

if u have it, u have it. i just had a sleep study 2 weeks ago and got the cpap last night. have u had a sleep study? they can detect other things along with apnea. apparently it can kill you. like i said, i got the cpap machine yesterday, was up all night fighting with it, getting ready for round two. good luck

I also think that you need a sleep study to confirm if you have sleep apnea or not. The snoring is bad enough for your health, but not breathing is the really bad part. Sleep apnea is linked to heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, diminished libido, and lots of other conditions.

Besides snoring, other common symptoms of sleep apnea are waking up tired instead of refreshed, blocked nose, day time sleepiness, headaches, lack of concentration and being forgetful.

Unless someone watched you all night to see how often you stop breathing and for how long, then how would you really know unless you take the test? At least once you find out if you have sleep apnea then you make a decision about how to treat it.
