I have sleep apnea and I am told I am getting a bipap machine. What’s the differnece between a cpap and bipap?

Does anyone have sleep apnea and use a Bipap machine at night?

if the bipap machine is the only resource for sleep apnea, then what is the CPAP (continuous positive airway?

pressure) is it basically the same thing? It is listed as a separate procedure for keeping the airway open.

My grandfather has sleep apnea and the doctor said he needs to use a bi-pap machine for at least 8 hours?

sometimes he sleeps for less then 7 hours… is he required to wear the mask while he is awake for the last hour?
