If you have sleep apnea, did you lose weight once you started using the?

CPAP machine. My Dr. told me that weight gain was a side affect of sleep apnea because of the stress hormone released when you brain has to constantly wake up all night. If you have the problem under control do you lose weight (with diet and excercise of course).

Are there any dangers to using a CPAP machine on a regular basis once diagnosed with Sleep Apnea?

If someone has had mental deficiencies because of sleep apnea, are they reversible once treated?

If a person gets treated for sleep apnea, such as using a CPAP machine, will the mental deficiencies resolve or will they have permanent brain damage/memory loss?
